In 1846, Chi Psi built the very first fraternity house in the nation at the University of Michigan and called it, \u201cThe Lodge\u201d, as it resembled a traditional hunting lodge. So as a tradition, all chapters of Chi Psi call their fraternity house a Lodge.<\/span><\/p>

Our chapter was founded on January 21st, 1921, and is one of the oldest fraternities on the University of Oregon\u2019s campus. The lodge was constructed in 1935 and designed by \u00a0Richard Sundeleaf<\/a> who designed many elegant residences in Portland Oregon.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

In 1978, the lodge was featured in the classic 1978 film, Animal House, as the site for building the \u00a0Delta Tau Chi parade float. It is one of four fraternities and three sororities (Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Phi, and Kappa Alpha Theta) that sit on the historic millrace<\/a>. In 1993, the lodge<\/span>\u00a0was listed on the\u00a0National Register of Historic Places<\/a>\u00a0(NRHP). \u00a0<\/span><\/p>
