Community Projects

Thanks to Community Service Chair Jake Thompson, ’26, we have continued to build our relationship with Food 4 Lane, a non-profit organization aiming to aid food-insecure communities in Eugene. We assisted in preparing meals that would be provided to those in need. Opportunities like these allow us to help the less fortunate in our community and practice the values necessary to be a Chi Psi Gentleman.
We also had the honor of participating in the University of Oregon’s “University Day.” We took time out of our day to improve the conditions of our community by participating in a campus-wide clean-up with other Greek organizations. We also tapped into our artistic side by painting rocks that are now displayed across campus.
To end the year, we are having another benefit concert to help us financially support Bowie Hutcheson, ’24, in his fight against cancer. Bowie has come a long way, but he still needs our support, and the Alpha will do everything in its power to ensure that he has as much support as possible.

Pie a Chi Psi
“Pie a Chi Psi” is a philanthropy event to raise money for, the local organization, Food for Lane County. Everyone had a great time and we were able to raise over $1,200 as well as 50lbs of canned food!

Hot Wings Challenge
The “Hot Wings” philo supports Hosea Youth Services. The brothers came out and ate some “mild, hot and super hot” wings for a good cause. This non-profit organization was founded in Eugene and serves struggling youth experiencing homelessness. We were able to help by raising over $2,000 for Hosea Youth Services!
