The University of Oregon Health Center is not able to hold students who live in off-campus housing if they test positive for COVID-19. For this reason, we are implementing a quarantine process that allows Brothers to stay in the Lodge, but isolated from the rest of the brotherhood. With that being said, the University Health Center is able to, and willing, to test any admitted student living in the Eugene area regardless of living situation, and we will be utilizing the University Health Center in our personal quarantine process.
What if I suspect I have COVID or am showing symptoms? – Alert Michael Hardebeck, current President of Alpha Eta Delta, who will assist you in taking the correct measures for testing and isolation
Where will I isolate if I am presumed positive or have tested positive? – The entire third deck of the Lodge will be treated as quarantine meaning that no live-in member is permitted to live on the third deck. If presumed positive or tested positive, you will isolate in one of the vacant rooms on the third deck.
How will testing work and when will I need to be tested? – You will be required to test as soon as possible after symptoms arise and, if result is positive, further testing will be required seven (7) days later.
How will the bathroom, shower, and meal processes work? – The third deck is equipped with a single person bathroom that will be reserved for isolated Brothers only. The shower system will be adjusted so that isolated Brothers will be allowed to shower starting at 10:00 PM to ensure social distancing between quarantining Brothers and the rest of the brotherhood. Meals will be prepared by our private chef, wrapped up and then delivered to the isolated Brother’s room by one of our stewards.
How long will I need to quarantine? – You will be required to quarantine for one week after a positive test result. If further testing comes back positive, you will be required to quarantine for another week. This process will continue until the test comes back negative whereupon you will be permitted to move back onto the second deck.
